What You’ll Learn | WJA Drain & Sewer for Duct Desilting Module

This course provides detailed knowledge of the risks and practical procedures involved in water jetting for drain and sewer desilting. Delegates will cover:

  • Structures and applications for drain and duct jetting
  • The WJA Code of Practice and how it applies on-site
  • Hose and nozzle selection, maintenance, and safety
  • Equipment checks and managing reaction force
  • Injury prevention, PPE / RPE requirements
  • The difference between grit blasting and water jetting

The session ends with a practical water jetting task assessment, reviewed by your WJA coach.

Duration: 1 day

Assessment: Theory & practical assessment (75% pass mark required)

Certification: City & Guilds registered, WJA approved – valid for 3 years

Locations: Flowplant Salisbury, Rotherham, or on-site (UK/international)

Pre-course requirement: WJA Safety Awareness

Minimum age: 18 (unless enrolled in a structured training programme)

What to Expect on the Day

We aim to make our WJA Drain & Sewer for Duct Desilting module session friendly, professional, and practical. You’ll be welcomed from 08:15 with tea, coffee, and biscuits before the day starts at 08:30.

Expect a full day of structured learning, supported by one of our experienced WJA-approved coaches. There’s plenty of time for discussion, questions, and hands-on assessment. Lunch is included at Flowplant centres (please let us know about dietary needs), and we aim to finish between 15:30 and 17:00, depending on group size.
